The Cellular Intelligence System is a network constructed of modular, human interface tiles that are designed to understand their environment and react to various conditions.


Each cell or module is composed of smart sensing technology and one or multiple LED actuators. Applications in architecture, design, outdoor space, media, and advertising are just some of the possible ways in which the system may be utilized. So much of the physical world is based on modular units of materials. Tile floors, brick facades, concrete slabs, hardwood floors, and mosaics are some of these repetitive building blocks that construct our surrounding environment


What if these modules possessed some of the attributes of a biological cell network that constitutes a living creature? What if they were able to sense their surrounding environment? What if they could augment their surrounding environment? What if they could influence human behavior and be influenced by human behavior The nervous system of the human brain is made up of a system of nerve cells called neurons that communicate with each other and with the rest of the body using electrochemical signals. Neurons respond to stimuli, and communicate the presence of stimuli to the central nervous system, which processes that information and sends an appropriate response in return. Cellular Intelligence works in a similar way. Each cell evaluates its surrounding environment through sensing technology or through network connections. If a stimulus is present, the information is processed using an arduino microcontroller, which is an open-source electronics prototyping platform, and an appropriate response is sent back to the cell itself or to another cell in the system and actuation is carried out through LED lights.
